Village Set To Fight Planned Trucking Facility

Residents on the outskirts of Cirencester look set to do battle to try and prevent a new lorry park being built.

Corinium Radio’s news team hears that Stratton folk could be gearing themselves up for a fight over plans for the 75 HGV lorry park on Gloucester Road on their doorstep.

It looks like the village is set to say a big “No Thank You” when it comes to the proposed development.

Concerns, we are told, revolve around safety and environmental issues.

Worried residents have described the planned development as a “massive” roadside truck stop with access only from Gloucester Road.

Comments can be made on the plans, which are being considered by Cotswold District Council, by 4th March. The application reference is 20/04673/FUL.

The application describes the development as the provision of a new secure roadside truck stop facility, including associated HGV and car parking, drivers facilities building, vehicular access, service yard and landscaping.
