Storm Eunice: Deer Park and Kingshill included in tomorrow’s school closures

Cirencester Deer Park School and Cirencester Kingshill School are just two of the schools set to close in Gloucestershire tomorrow as the Cotswolds braces itself for Storm Eunice.

At the time of writing, entries for both secondary schools on Gloucestershire County Council’s closed school and library website, closures.gloucestershire.gov.uk, explained that remote learning would take place on Friday February 18 “to ensure the safety of staff and pupils”.

Cirencester Primary School, Powell’s C of E Primary School and Farmor’s School were just some of the other schools included on the list.

The closures come as the Cotswolds prepares for Storm Eunice, which is forecast to bring high winds to southern Britain.

The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for part of southern England and Wales in light of the storm, with the weather service predicting issues including “flying debris resulting in danger to life” and “damage to buildings and homes” in this area.
