Series Of Fires Leads To Local Police Appeal

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of arson-related incidents.

Officers received reports of incidents over the weekend, predominantly in Cheltenham but also in Stroud.

The series of fires began late on Saturday evening (5th June), going into the early hours of Sunday (6th June).

The incidents included the suspected arson of a car on Butterow Hill, Stroud, which was reported to police around 11.40pm.

The arson of another car in Hardwick, Cheltenham, was reported around 12.20am.

There was also the arson of two hedges and a fence in the Prestbury and Southam areas of Cheltenham, which were reported between 2.30am and 2.50am.

On Monday police said it was unknown at that stage if all of the arsons were linked.

Police also said they were keen to speak to any witnesses of the incidents or anyone who may have any information on them.
