Future Of Top Christmas Market To Be Considered

The future of Bath’s famous Christmas Market is up for debate on June 23rd.

Recommendations to reinstate the colourful city market this year, in a Covid-secure way, are set to be considered by Bath and North East Somerset councillors.

The Bath Christmas Market is in its twentieth year, having been cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

It is ranked in the top 10 in Europe and attracts 400,000 visitors per year, with an estimated spend in the city of £32.5 million in 2019.

Now a report before Bath and North East Somerset Council’s cabinet says the council needs to decide whether to proceed with planning and delivery of Bath Christmas Market against the background of uncertainty over the pandemic and variants of concern entering the UK.

Recommended dates for the market are from November 25th to December 12th.
