County Pledges That No Child Will Go Hungry

No child will go hungry in Gloucestershire this coming half-term, according to Gloucestershire County Council.

Children in the county who are entitled to receive free school meals will again be supported with vouchers over the February half-term.

All eligible pupils who registered and received support during the October and Christmas holidays will automatically receive vouchers for February. Parents and carers do not need to register again.

Any families who believe they are eligible but have not already registered can apply to the county council for the support.

Cllr Mark Hawthorne, leader of Gloucestershire County Council, said, “Last year we made a commitment to ensure that no child in Gloucestershire goes hungry during the pandemic and we will keep that commitment this February half-term.

“A good meal each day is the very least every child should have.”
