County Kids Get Set To Start Their School Lives

Gloucestershire looks like it’s earned a gold reward sticker!

This year a total of 6,441 local children have been offered a primary school place for September, with 98 percent being admitted to one of their preferred schools.

And 91 percent of pupils received a place at their first-preference school.

Chris Spencer, Director of Children’s Services at Gloucestershire County Council, said, “It’s that time of year when our young people find out where the next stage of their education will be.

“Starting primary school is a big step and we wish all pupils well for this next stage of their journey.

“We aim to ensure that as many children as possible are able to attend a school of their choice and we’re pleased to have been able to achieve this for the vast majority.”
