Council’s Silent Tribute To Duke of Edinburgh

Cirencester Town Council has announced that it will be paying its own silent tribute to Prince Philip.

Town Mayor Patrick Coleman said that as a mark of respect the council would be holding a moment of silence at forthcoming meetings of the Planning Committee and Annual Meeting, which were being held on April 13th and May 11th respectively.

However, he added that due to ongoing Covid restrictions the council would not be able to host a written book of condolence. It would encourage all members of the public to send a message of condolence via http://www.royal.uk/condolence.

Cllr Coleman said it was with great sadness that the council had learned of the news from Buckingham Palace regarding The Duke of Edinburgh’s death.

He said, “On behalf of the community of Cirencester, our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this time.”
