Sheer Isolation Podcast – with Keith Hyett (16/05/21)

After more than a year of silence, the UK’s grassroots musicians are starting to plan real-life events once again. Our guest on Sheer Isolation this week is flipping the perspective by encouraging communities in the West to put on events themselves, to help support seasoned singers, newbie performers and raise money for their village halls at the same time. Keith Hyett’s Re-connect project encourages communities to work together to create a place where we can spend time with our friends and neighbours post-lockdown, and enjoy food, drink and music at the same time.

We also discuss exciting developments at the Cheese & Grain in Frome, where you can find some of this year’s Glastonbury line-up after the internationally renowned event was cancelled for the second year running.

In our music selection this week, we play one of Keith’s instrumental compositions; our other track is a new release from the Bath based Longcoats.
