Sheer Isolation – with Andy Rae (2000 Trees) (14/03/21)

It wasn’t long after the Government announced provisional dates for unlocking England that festival organisers started stocking up on gaffer tape, charging their walkie-talkies and getting ready to open their doors after a fallow year. Andy Rae is one of the founders of Gloucestershire’s 2000 Trees Festival. He joins us on Sheer Isolation to talk about their plans for this July, in particular how they want the four day event to be as normal as possible, while being conscious that another blip in the Covid stats could scupper plans for the second year running. We also come up with a Flaming Lips-style workaround for keeping the event open, but quickly find a flaw in the plan.

On the music menu we’ve got a sweet, acoustic ditty from the most Glaswegian Bristolian we know; The Lonely Tourist has a new release out. And Andy picks a metal/pop/alt track off Canadian group, The Dirty Nil’s new album.

Also, in what’s becoming an unintended regular feature, Kieran has a pop at the Performing Rights Society.
